Passau, on the border between Germany and Austria, is known as the City of the Three Rivers (the Inn, the Danube and the Ilz). From the Oberhaus stronghold on the wooded hill of Georgsberg you get a striking view (see below) of the rocky promontory dividing the Inn from the Danube (Donau) with the town's churches and houses crowded together upon it. If you enjoy organ music you should attend a mass or a concert in the Dom (13th to 16th cent.) which houses the world's largest church organ with its 16,778 pipes and 215 registers.
