BambergThe old imperial city Bamberg, the largest city of Oberfranken (Upper Franconia), lies along the river Regnitz and is one of Germany's most noteworthy cities to visit. Growing up in Germany I knew of the cultural signgicance of its cathedral (Dom) but I was also most pleasantly surprised by its beautiful city scape and pottery. Be sure to tour the town at night as well, when several important sites are illuminated.
