Senlis

Senlis, just a few miles north of Paris and 10 km east of Chantilly, is worth a visit because of its gothic cathedral Notre-Dame (Plans and drawings) and its well-preserved historic streets. It was the seat of a bishop from the third century till 1790. The cathedral (1153-84) has a richly decorated main portal and a noteworthy interior. The farmer's market took place in St. Pierre, at that time a church ruin nearby. Today St. Pierre has been refurbished and is used for music concerts and art exhibitions.
