Angers

Angers is the historic capital of Anjou, home of the Plantagenets and gateway to the Loire Valley. The formidable 13th century Château d'Angers houses one of the finest collections of medieval tapestries, woven between 1375 and 1378. They depict the story of the Apocalypse. The moat of the castle has also been planted as a beautiful French garden.
