Next to Reims, Epernay is the main town for the production and shipment of champagne. A champagne museum and many famous cellars/houses such as Moët et Chandon, Mercier and de Castellane are located here. This rather undistinguished town dominates the champagne industry, and has, therefore, one of the highest per capital income levels in France.
