St.-Pol-de-Léon, Bretagne

St.-Pol-de-Léon is the main market place for the very fertile region of Léon. It is named for St.-Pol, the first bishop of lower Brittany. In the middle of the town is the two-towered cathedral in the Norman style (13th to 16th century). A little south is the Chapelle du Kreisker (14th to 15th century) with its 77m high marvelous bell tower, which became an inspiration for many bell towers in Brittany.
